Car diagnostics in Uxbridge
Inscripta Autotech is an independent garage in Uxbridge. We read your vehicle’s fault data and warning lights, then explain in plain English what is likely happening and what your options are. Diagnostics and investigation start from £45, and no work is carried out without your agreement.
Signs you need this
- A warning light has come on, or is flashing
- The car feels different to drive, but you cannot say why
- A fault code was read elsewhere and you want a second opinion
- An intermittent fault that only appears now and then
- You want clarity before agreeing to any repair
What we do
You can book a diagnostic visit as a morning drop-off. Leave the car with us and we investigate, then report back before any repair work is agreed.
- Read stored and pending fault codes from the vehicle’s modules
- Interpret warning lights alongside live sensor data
- Visually inspect the relevant system and its components
- Road test where it helps confirm the symptoms you described
We explain what we found in plain English, the likely cause and the options open to you. You decide what happens next. We do not carry out repair work you have not agreed to.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a diagnostic cost?
Basic Diagnostic Check – £45 (Autel MS906). Any further work is scoped and priced by the technician only after the car has been examined, so you know the cost before you agree to it.
Can you tell me what is wrong over the phone?
We are happy to talk through your symptoms, but a proper diagnosis needs the car. The fault data and a physical check are what let us narrow down the cause.
Will you fix it on the same day?
We investigate first and explain the options. Depending on what we find and on parts availability, some repairs can be completed the same day; others need to be booked in.
My warning light is flashing. Is it safe to drive?
A flashing warning light often signals something that needs urgent attention. Please stop somewhere safe and call us on 07494 227487 before you drive any further.
Do you work on all makes and models?
We work across most makes and models. If a vehicle needs specialist equipment we do not hold, we will tell you honestly rather than guess.
What should I bring with me?
Just the vehicle, plus any history you have such as a recent service record or previous fault notes. It also helps to tell us exactly when the problem happens.
Good to know
Some intermittent faults do not show themselves on every visit. If a fault is not present during the investigation we will explain what we found and agree the next steps with you. Diagnosis narrows down likely causes rather than guaranteeing a single answer for every fault.
FAULT CODES
Got a warning light and a code?
Enter the code from your dashboard or a code reader. We will show you what the supplied data says it means, in plain English, and you can ask us to check the car properly.
